What Your First Session Looks Like
1. Welcome & Gear Setup:
Arrive 10 mins early at 409 Lantern St. We meet you at reception, hand you a premium demo paddle, and introduce your group.
2. The Basics Made Simple:
Scoring, court lines, and safety explained simply through easy, low-pressure drills.
3. Serving & Rallying:
Learn the underhand serve, practice ball control, and hit your very first real shots with your coach right beside you.
4. Play Your First Game:
Put it all together in a friendly, guided game. You leave knowing how to play and ready for your next session!

Is it really free?
Yes! Our Intro to Pickleball session is normally a $25 value, but we are offering it 100% FREE as an invitation for new players to try the sport and experience Pickleplex Red Deer.
Do I need any experience?
None. Over 80% of our Intro participants have zero racquet sport background and are playing games within 30 minutes. Plus, pickleball is designed to be intuitive and easy to learn.
How long is the session?
60 minutes of instruction, drills and guided game play.
What should I wear or bring?
Just wear comfortable athletic clothing and clean court shoes or sneakers. We provide all demo paddles and pickleballs!
Can I come by myself or bring a friend?
Both! Many participants register solo and meet new partners on day one, while others sign up with a friend or partner to learn together.
Is pickleball only for certain age groups?
Not at all! Our beginner sessions bring together active adults of all ages looking for a fun, social way to stay active.
What happens after I claim my spot?
One of our team will get in touch to confirm which session you’re joining. Once your time is set, you’ll get a confirmation with the date, the address on Bell Blvd, where to park, and the only two things to bring, running shoes and water. We supply the paddle.
